2014 Photographic Rally

10/2/2014

Picture
It is now our 6th year of the Ulster Section Photographic Rally.

If you don't know already but you really should, the Photographic Rally is all about getting the motorbike out and not forgetting to take your camera with you.

Amazingly we have 9 more new places all across Ulster for you to ride along to and take your pictures. With some of our entries getting more and more artistic feel free to be as creative as you like, but just a picture of you, your bike, your pillion and or all of the above will do nicely.

So if you still don't know what to do, between now and the closing date you need to visit as many of the listed locations as you choose, in any order you dictate, by whatever route pleases you, alone or accompanied as you wish.

Take a photograph of the nominated subject, be creative if you desire, but include your motorcycle (and pillion passenger if entered).

See below for the entry form, Garmin Waypoint File, a handy Google Map, and some general information about the rally and it's purpose.

If 9 places is not enough to fill your biking calendar then visit the Irish Photorally site to get more places to visit and support the Boyne Riders event.

We do not charge an entry fee for the Photographic Rally. We would ask for a generous voluntary donation towards our supported charity.

The basic aims of the Ulster Photographic Rally are: -
  • To encourage people to get “out there” on their motorbike(s) and have some enjoyment. “Out there” (it is hoped), will either be off the beaten track or feature an interesting subject, preferably both?
  • An interest in photography is not essential, however it just might add to the enjoyment of the event.
  • In the context of motorcycling the event is not competitive. Badges are awarded for photographing a preset number of locations. Certificates will be awarded for best photo, best set of photos, oldest bike, and smallest bike etc.

We have this handy little Google Map of the 9 locations along with GPS files at the bottom of this webpage.
  • All participants are subject to all the rules and regulations as apply to traffic and/or trespass.
  • Please respect these and any other considerations as may be relevant. Be CAREFUL and DO ENJOY yourself.
  • There’s no need to pre enter; simply submit your photos no later than 31st October (no exceptions).

See the entry forms for conditions and how to enter.

And if you are still not too sure of what to do when you find the locations see our Photo Gallery for some pictures of the locations featured on some recent photo rallies.
